Brixton was named Breakout Brand of the Year at the 10th annual Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Image Awards, capping off what has been a momentous year for the growing brand.

Nominees representing the best of the surf industry from 2012 were honored at the SIMA Image Awards ceremony on Thursday, February 7 at the Grove in Anaheim, California with more than 800 attendees from surf companies and specialty retail shops coming out to celebrate.  This year companies were recognized in 16 categories including Breakout Brand of the Year, Breakout Retailer of the Year, Surfboard of the Year, Boardshort of the Year and more.

“It feels great to be recognized for all of the hard work we’ve put into Brixton,” said Co-founder and Brand Manager David Stoddard.  “We are honored to win this award and we’re thankful for all the support we’ve gotten from our retailers, reps and distributors.  It’s a great way to start 2013.”

The goal of the SIMA Image Awards is to identify the surf industry’s most influential companies and recognize them for their efforts to advance and grow the industry over the past year.  The SIMA Image Awards is the only awards program that gives the surf industry the opportunity to acknowledge fellow companies for their outstanding innovations and contributions.
